BACON-Wrapped Doughnuts

INGREDIENTS:
-2 Cup Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
-3/4 Cup Sugar
-2 Large Eggs (beaten)
-3T Dried Buttermilk Powder
-3T Vegetable Oil
-2T H2O
-2t Baking Powder
-1/2t Cinnamon
-1/2t Salt
-1/8t Nutmeg

-12-15 Strips Hardwood Smoked Bacon
-3/4 Cup Maple Syrup

METHOD to the MADNESS (Baking Doughnuts):
-Mix Dry/Wet Ingredient Separate.
-Fold Wet Ingredients into Dry & Stir thoroughly.
-In Greased Doughnut Pan, Fill Cups with Batter 1/2 way.
-Bake @ 350F for 10-12 Minutes or Until Doughnuts are Plump/Golden Brown.
-Pull from Heat & Let Rest/Cool on Rack.

METHOD to the MADNESS (Adding the BACON!):
-While Doughnuts are cooling on Rack…
-Pull Bacon & lay into a Medium Mixing Bowl with Maple Syrup, Mix & Marinate for 5 Minutes.
-On a Baking Sheet Lay Strips of Bacon Side-by-Side & drizzle excess Syrup over Bacon.
-Place into Oven @ 350°F, Rendering Fat from the Bacon – Do NOT Over-Cook (5-7 Minutes).
-Pull Bacon from Oven, Remove Strips from Baking Sheet, & Allow to Rest.

-To Wrap the Bacon… Thread through the Hole of the Doughnut (see photo).
-Each Doughnut should require 2-3 Strips of Bacon.
-Repeat Process for ALL Doughnuts.
-Place Wrapped Doughnuts on Alternate Baking Sheet & Back in Oven @ 350°F.
-Bake for 7-10 Min, or until Bacon is Golden Brown.
-Pull from Oven, Serve 1 WARM Maple-Bacon Wrapped Doughnut for EACH Hand + 1 Functional Defibrillator!!
